Cobra King Raw Wedges Review

Feel, Spin, and a Look That Gets Better with Time

Wedges are one of the most personal clubs in the bag. When they’re right, you trust them. When they’re not, you feel it immediately. After spending quality time with the Cobra King Raw wedges, I can confidently say these have earned their spot, not just for performance, but for how they look and inspire confidence every time I pull one.

Raw Finish: No Glare, Just Pure Confidence

Let’s start with the finish. The raw face and raw finish on these wedges is a big reason I gravitated toward them in the first place. There’s zero glare, even in bright sunlight, which is huge when you’re standing over a delicate shot around the green.

Over time, the raw finish develops a natural rust patina, and honestly it looks fantastic. It gives the wedges a tour-inspired, well-used look that I personally love. These clubs look better the more you play them, not worse.

Greenside Spin You Can Trust

Performance-wise, the greenside spin has been excellent. Whether it’s a low checker, a pitch that grabs quickly, or a bunker shot that lands soft, the King Raw wedges consistently deliver the control you want.

You don’t have to manipulate the swing to get the ball to react the spin is just there. That confidence frees you up to focus on execution instead of worrying about how the ball will behave once it lands.

58° - The Go-To Scoring Club

The 58° wedge has easily become my most-used club around the green. It’s been outstanding for:

  • Flops

  • Open-face shots

  • Tight lies

  • Greenside bunkers

It’s versatile without feeling intimidating. Whether I need to slide it under the ball or play something soft and controlled, the 58° has handled everything I’ve asked of it. Out of the bunker especially, it’s been extremely reliable and consistent launch, great spin, and predictable rollout.

54° - The Perfect Gap Filler

The 54° has done exactly what it’s supposed to do: fill the gap between the 50° and 58°. It’s the perfect option when the 58° would bring too much height or spin, but the 50° doesn’t quite give enough stopping power.

For partial shots, controlled pitches, and mid-distance wedge approaches, the 54° has been incredibly dependable.

50° - Full Shots and Bump-and-Runs

The 50° wedge has been money for full shots and controlled approaches. It’s also excellent for bump-and-run shots, especially when I want to keep the ball low and let it release naturally.

This wedge feels like a true extension of the iron set predictable yardages, solid contact, and no surprises.

Pros & Cons

Final Thoughts

The Cobra King Raw wedges deliver exactly what you want from a scoring club: spin, versatility, and confidence. The raw finish is a big win visually, the performance around the green has been rock solid, and the gapping between the 50°, 54°, and 58° has made wedge decisions easy.
